Masoor Dal
Popularly called "lal masoor", split flushed lentils are the familiar salmon-colored ones found in stores. They are ticklish in flavor with a erratic new taste and turn icteric when cooked. Split red lentils are pop because they fudge fast and make a good dish. They also feature conspicuously in lentil plant rangolis because of their bright color.
